It is important to know that many of the pests that you may encounter can create hazardous health conditions from fecal matter or are hosts to secondary problem.  For example, bats can cause health hazards from guano, and are also carriers of histoplasmosis disease and other spores and bugs. BATS

CANADIAN GEESE

Activity: diurnal, primarily daylight

Health Risks: feces can make sidewalks slippery, feces may increase bacteria count in water resources

CHIPMUNK

Breeding: March- April

Young: 1-7 offspring, 1-2 times per year, May-June

Activity: diurnal; peak activity morning and evening

MUSKRAT

Activity: nocturnal; solitary; morning, evening, night

Health Risk: less risk than house pet, fleas, ticks

Activity: nocturnal, dawn and dusk, concealed in dense cover, year round

Food: carnivorous, omnivore, scavengers, solitary; exceedingly vicious, voracious brute, fish, young waterfowl, aquatic animals, frogs, birds

Breeding: Spring

Young: 2 dozen eggs lay early summer, once per year

Activity: largely nocturnal, can stay submerged for 3 hours

Health Risk: a strike from these dangerous brutes may be followed by a serious injury. The amputation of a finger by a medium-sized snapping turtle, or a hand by a large adult, would be an accomplishment of no difficulty.
