Animal Contamination

When animals like bats, birds, raccoons, and mice get into your homes and structures they contaminate the insulation with urine, feces, shed fur, parasites, bacteria, and viruses. Unless removed, these disease-causing contaminates will remain in your home's insulation forever. The remaining animal odors can also attract other animals to this space as it is perceived as a safe and secure living space.

Health Concerns

Raccoon and bat droppings are considered hazardous. The droppings from wildlife may carry diseases that could be passed to humans. These diseases are called zoonotic diseases and can include histoplasmosis, toxoplasmosis, cryptococcosis, baylisascaris, salmonella, e coli, rabies, etc. WARNING: DO NOT DISTURB THE DROPPINGS unless you are wearing proper safety equipment like a 0.4 microns respirator that will filter the airborne pathogens to prevent respiratory disease.

Cleanout Process

  • Removal of soiled insulation - Handling fiberglass insulation that is urine soaked and covered in animal waste is a miserable experience. We use specialized equipment to ensure that none of these contaminates trickle down into the living space of your home. Our process is safe for you, your family and our technicians.
  • Decontamination treatment to kill fleas, mites, bacteria, and viruses.
  • Deodorizing treatment to remove odors.
  • Disposal of waste at a licensed landfill.
  • Re-insulation after the attic has been thoroughly cleaned and decontaminated. In most cases we find that the existing insulation we   remove from attic is outdated and inadequate. This gives the homeowner an opportunity to increase the R-value of their insulation.

The result: a fresh clean space free of animal urine, droppings and other unhealthy contaminates with excellent insulation properties.
